The Vision

We catched up with Hardstyle Producer/DJ The Vision aka Vincent Auf Der Haar at the Hard Dance Event showcase during ADE. The Vision recently made the switch from Dirty Workz to We R Music & was going to play that week at ‘I Am Hardstyle’ in the Heineken Music Hall. So, of course we wanted to do an in-dept interview. Check out the interview below!

The Vision HDE

Hi The Vision, thanks for making time for this interview! Is it your first time here at the Hard Dance Event showcase?

No problem guys! It’s my fifth time actually, so I already attended Hard Dance Event when it took place at the Q-Dance location.

Alright, so you know well about Hard Dance Event and ADE. How would you describe ADE in 3 words?

First of all meeting people, either meeting them again or for the first time. Secondly getting in touch with people, basically networking and finally having fun, talking about your passion: music!

Okay, you’ve been in the scene for some years now but we wonder how this all got started for you. Could you explain that?

Sure! Well I’ve started DJ’ing at age 18 thanks to my friend Coen van Hal. My first Qlimax was in 2003 and yeah both my father and sister have been also active in the music scene. Things really went fast after signing at Dirty Workz in 2010.

Great, we’ve noticed that you’ve produced both euphoric and raw Hardstyle already, which one genre do you actually prefer?

That’s hard to say, I actually like both. When the popularity of raw Hardstyle began to rise I felt like that was where I wanted to go with my productions. Obviously for euphoric tracks it’s so much easier to capture feelings in a track. I believe it must have been confusing for my fans that I was doing both genres. To move on about how things have been going for me, as you know since this month I’m signed at Brennan Heart’s We R Music. I feel like my challenge lies there. I approached Fabian (Brennan Heart) myself and he was really positive about my productions. Despite that I want to make clear that I’ve always been treated really well at Dirty Workz and they’ve give me great opportunities in the past. We agreed that my future would be with We R Music.

Alright thanks for that explanation! So you’ve been a part of We R Music for not even a month yet & now you’re going to play at ‘I Am Hardstyle’. Did you ever see that coming?

No definitely not! I was really pleasantly surprised and for me it confirms that Fabian really has faith in me. That feels great of course!

We can imagine! Well, a new label, so we can expect new solo-tracks & collabs coming up. Could you tell something about that?

Yeah I can. WE R ONE ft. Melissa Pixel will be my debut track on We R Music but that’s known. My second We R Music track will be a collab with my good friend Zentiments. Next to that I’m working on a collab with Demi Kanon right now and I’ve definitely got some solo tracks ready. My dream-collab would be with one of the big guys in We R Music like Code Black.

Great news! Looking forward to hear all those upcoming tracks! Let’s imagine we’re sitting here again in 2016. What do you want to have reached in that period, what are your goals?

Well at the moment I’m focusing on improving my productions and making collabs. I love to make a ‘hard’ track with a cool melody. For me most important is that I can capture feelings in my tracks.

Alright let’s see what can happen in one year! Last question, when or how do you get inspiration?

There are many moments in life which can give me inspiration like watching a movie or a commercial on tv. Mostly feelings give me inspiration, feeling happy or feeling sad can make you quite creative. I don’t only listen to Hardstyle, also top 40, game music and hip-hop in my spare time.

Okay thanks very much for this interview Vincent & we wish you all the best at We R Music!

Thanks! You’re welcome!
