The Flying Dutch wins award: Best Production of the Year!
The biggest open air dance festival of the Netherlands The Flying Dutch won the award for ‘Best Production of the Year’ last night. The award was awarded by ‘Dutch Live Entertainment Productions Awards’ for which an expert jury consisting of professionals from the live-entertainment industry, picked The Flying Dutch as the winner. The festival experienced its first edition last year, for which 10 of the best Dutch DJ’s were flown by helicopter to 3 different locations to perform for 100.000 enthusiastic fans.
The Dutch Live Entertainment Production Awards (DLEPA) are awards for industry-professionals within the live-entertainment industry who achieved something important and remarkable. Last year Vriend van Amstel won the award for the best production. This year initiative-takers of The Flying Dutch John Ewbank, Allan Hardenberg (ALDA Events) and presenting partner ING take home the award.

The first edition of The Flying Dutch was completely sold-out last year. Also the second edition which takes place on 4th June sold out within a couple of hours. 120.000 fans will be able to enjoy the top 10 Dutch DJ’s again in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Eindhoven. The massive popularity of The Flying Dutch hasn’t gone un-noticed abroad either and made a special edition happen: on the 30th July 2016 there’s a Swedish version of The Flying Dutch for which the top of Swedish DJ’s will come to the Netherlands and also will be flown to 3 locations (Den Hague, Den Bosch & Nijmegen).
