Spinnin’ Records celebrates 1000th release

 #SP1000 celebrate

Spinnin’ Records has released its 1000th record. The Dutch label celebrates this with a special DJ Mix including loads of Spinnin’ classics from the 16-years of history of the company, and a VIP trip to the Spinnin’ event during Amsterdam Dance Event in October. The release of SP1000, the already popular ‘Portland’ by producers Watermät & Moguai, also has a remix contest to it for which the best submission will win a trip to Portland in the USA.

It has been an amazing ride for Spinnin’ Records  so far. Founded in 1999 by publisher Eelko van Kooten and A&R  man Roger de Graaf, the Dutch label quickly became a taste-maker in the charts and club-scene. Hosting many sublabels, releasing records every week Spinnin’ Records has launched many careers, amongst which of DJ’s like Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, Sander van Doorn, Bingo Players, Nicky Romero, Afrojack, Firebeatz and recently Sam Feldt.

‘Best Indie Label’

While Dance has grown from a niche music genre to worlds most dominant genre, Spinnin’ Records has followed the same path. Currently it’s the largest, independent dance label worldwide, an achievement that was rewarded last week with an award for ‘Best Indie Label’. Presented at the Promo Only Summer Sessions, a well-established conference for the American music-industry in Atlantic City, Spinnin’ was the first European label to ever receive this title.

A big strength of the company is the promotion on social media rather than the traditional paths. Spinnin’ Records has got a leading role in this which made YouTube decide to award Spinnin’ with a special ‘Diamond Award’.

#SP1000

And now there’s the 1000th release. This is being celebrated with a #SP1000 Celebration Mix, which can be found on SoundCloud, where every 50th release on the label was been included, which offers a unique view on Spinnin’ Records’s history but also on the Dance history in general.

At the same time a #SP1000 contest has been put online whereby, contestants could win a VIP-trip to Spinnin’s ADE-party in October. You can find this contest here: https://guestlist.beatport.com/spinnin-records/

Following the Spinnin’ tradition SP1000 is a big hit. Produced by well-established DJ’s Watermät & Moguai the track is already being supported by big artists (from electro-DJ’s like Martin Garrix and Tiësto  till House-DJ’s like Oliver Heldens and Martin Solveig). With the release of Portland the label also will be kicking off a remix contest on the Talent Pool website with a trip to Portland, USA as the grand prize.
