Maybe you’re a bit hungover from Kingsday, well that happens to the best of us, especially after 2 long years without proper celebrations. Good news: festivals are back in full swing, so why not celebrate freedomsday in the best way possible by heading over to the Liberty Dance stage of Bevrijdingsfestival Zeeland on May 5th?
This year the first part of the line-up (13-18h) is hosted by the local talented duo Team Peach!
The Liberty Dance Stage is a perfect spot for local talent that participated at the Kunstbende contest to show what they’ve got for a big audience. We can’t say we were already familiar with VRMN, Luuk, Maaster or DNN, but we love checking out new music. Upon doing some research we discovered VRMN is all about that rawtrap sound. You might be reading this and think, what on earth is that? Well, probably it’s easy to compare with some early Yellow Claw or Wiwek music, in case you’re a bit more knowledgable it’s basically a mix of rawstyle (raw hardstyle) and trapmusic. Still no clue? Jaycey is a regular at Team Peach parties which are for example being held at the Schuttershof in Middelburg. You’ll definitely be vibing to his music!
Trobi is one of the headliners and he’s already playing at 14:30, so if you snooze you’ll lose! This young Dutch guy needs no introduction and is the mastermind behind pretty much every single cool beat that’s being used by that one Dutch hip-hop artist you listen to all the time. We actually were already familiar with Trobi in 2015. Right now all the tracks of his new album are a big hype on TikTok and Spotify.
Alan Serano and Thomas Osté are both regular at Team Peach parties like Jaycey. Alan Serano actually played at Bevrijdingsfestival before back in 2019 (Liberty Peach Stage), he’s making his debut at the Liberty Dance stage though.
Bryan MG has worked with many big Dutch urban acts like Dopebwoy, Frenna and Bizzey. Keep an eye out for his new track ‘Meditatie’ which is definitely a hit!

It’s not a piece of cake to host DJ’s, but MC Donson is definitely up for the task! He regularly MC’s at Team Peach sets and has experienced the Liberty Dance stage before so he’ll definitely enhance your experience!
We have to highlight the closing act which is Belgium artist Dr. Lektroluv, quite the character with a green mask, but a master behind the decks. He hosted parties at Amsterdam Dance Event and did tours around the globe, for example in Brazil. His style could be defined as ‘elektro’ which is a genre that might be bigger in Belgium than in the Netherlands but we’re convinced his set will POP OFF!
Besides the closing act you should also get to know the (local) talent performing mostly tech-house/techno music:
Geerten van Duin is all about groovy music, funky sounds and captivating vocals. His biggest inspiration are guys like Franky Rizardo, Dennis Ferrer and Simon Dunmore. Fun fact, his love for music got started with funk and rock music and you can still hear a lot of influences from these genres in his sets. He’s a very familiar face in the local house scene and he’ll be playing B2B with Overtracked. Overtracked has already released releases on labels like Armada Deep and Eight0Eight Recordings. He also performed on the biggest festivals and clubs in the Netherlands and nearby. Overtracked guarantees energetic tech-house sets filled with rolling baselines, tight kicks and especially many own productions.
Mike Highdyke has been living and breathing music since he was just a kid. Inspired by Lars Tindal he decided to get behind the decks himself and that’s how his career kicked off. His style can be charactized as techno with influences from oldschool & millenium hardcore. It can be happy and melodic, but also dark and hard.
Benjamin Bryan is a known DJ from Zeeland that has been working really hard and making waves in the house scene. In 2021 he reached a big milestone by getting the top spot in the Beatport top 100 charts with his track ‘Moving’. He’ll surely be dropping this one during his set and he can’t wait to play at Bevrijdingsfestival Zeeland. Benjamin will be playing Back2Back with mister FIJN events: Janick Megroot. Janick’s career got a big boost when he won the ‘I LOVE TECHNO’ DJ contest and averages 60 bookings on a yearly basis now. In need of a groovy dark techno set? Janick is your man!
Last but definitely not least, the experienced host MC Tricky Gullivan has been hosting several other Liberty Dance stage-editions. He’s energetic and definitely knows how to compliment the DJ’s sounds by hyping up the crowd. With Tricky Gullivan nearby, standing still is no option!
Attention: the Liberty Dance stage has moved to the Scheldekwartier area this year and won’t be at the parking lot near the cinema.
